Pro National
Numbers
1. Current SMC
National Champions can carry the No. 1 plate. Numbers 2 through
9 are reserved for past Pro National Champions in active competition,
or they may select any available number.
2. Riders ranked
in the top-10 in combined Premier and Pro-Am points can choose
a Career Number from 11-999, which they keep until they withdraw
from competition or fail to earn a National point.
3. Riders outside
the top-10 in are assigned consecutive numbers 11 through
99 based on combined Premier and Pro-Am year-end points, but
can request a higher triple-digit number when applying for
their 2005 license.
4. These numbers
are subject to change. The finalized list of National Numbers
as they are assigned after the deadline is shown below.
A: Procedure
for assigning National Numbers
a. After the
current Premier Champion runs his #1 plate for the season
he/she is asked to select an available Permanent Number 2-10
or a career # 11 thru 999.
b. Premier Class
National Series points 1-10 stand as National numbers 1 thru
10. (Except for active Past National Champions) The current
top ten are asked to submit a request for an available Career
Number (11 thru 999). Numbers are distributed to the top ten
in order of ranking.
c. Pro-am Class
series points are then added to Premier points at 50% value
to determine remaining National Rankings 11 thru 99.
d. When a riders combined points ranking conflicts with a
Permanent Number the rider (and all who follow him/her in
combined points) is bumped down to the next sequentially available
non-permanent number. Conversely when a nationally ranked
rider (1-99) chooses a three-digit number (permanent or not)
the remaining riders move up one position.
e. Ties in combined
points are broken by results with Premier over Pro-am. Further
ties are broken by average of rider finishes. Most firsts,
most seconds, most thirds and so on.
Regional
Amateur Numbers
1.
Supermoto Canada will post an annual list of the top ranked
riders from each region. Afterward each region is responsible
for assigning numbers to its membership. Rider’s competing
in more than one regional series championship will be required
to run the number assigned to them by the region in which
they are competing.
2.
Regional amateur riders will be assigned numbers 11-999 based
on the final results of the previous season. Number 11 will
be assigned to the highest ranking Middleweight “A”
rider that has not been promoted to a Pro/Expert ranking.
Once all of the Middleweight “A” riders have been
ranked the other classes will be ranked in the following class
order; Middleweight “B”; Super Stock (Vet Plus
35); Lightweight; Premier Mini; Sport Mini.
3.
Competing SMC members may retain their previous years number
providing their membership application and number request
is received prior to the expiry date of their competition
license. When a riders points ranking conflicts with a previously
assigned and, or renewed number the rider (and all who follow
him/her in combined points) is bumped down to the next sequentially
available number. In situations where riders from different
classes hold the same number, the rider with the higher ranking
will be given first preference toward number selection. Ties
in points are broken by determining rider finishes. Most firsts,
most seconds, most thirds and so on.
4.
Riders may request any unassigned number when applying for
their SMC license. Requests for numbers will be granted on
a first-come, first-serve basis.
5.
Once a number is assigned, that number will remain assigned
to the rider until the expiration date printed on his Competition
membership. A rider has until Jan. 1st of the following year
to renew his membership and maintain his same competition
number.
